Let’s be honest here: the last two months have felt more like two years.
With social distancing measures put in place alongside the uncertainty that has come alongside the pandemic, most individuals in the Boca Raton area are hoping for some sort of good news.
We here at FloridaHomesBocaRaton.com have at least some.
Figuring out what businesses and activities are essential might feel like somewhat of a guessing game, but real estate is still able to move along, as long as safety measures are put in place.
Yes, buying and selling houses is still allowed, but somewhat differently than most would deem traditional.
We’re here to give you the rundown on how to navigate selling your home and/or buying a new one and tips on how to use the quarantine to your advantage.
As of right now, the country and Florida State are still doing their best to social distance in order to prevent the spread of the virus. Thankfully, we have the internet at our disposal, and governments are easing the restrictions on what can and what cannot be done remotely. One big example is appraisals and inspections. Usually, inspections for real estate purposes need to be done in person. Because of the outbreak, alternative appraisals, which can be conducted through research or an external (driveby or walkaround) inspection, are allowed to replace traditional ones for the time being. Contact the appraisal company you would normally use and ask them what their social distancing measures are.
If you plan on moving after buying or selling, what better time to get organized is now? Stay at home orders might seem suffocating, but they sure do give us a lot of time to take care of organizing. Some packing tips for moving during COVID-19 include purchasing or requesting moving supplies, like bins, boxes, packing paper, bubble wrap, and the like ahead of time alongside being safe. Be sure to have hand sanitizer and disinfectant on-hand, and be careful about packages that have been around other people.
If you don't plan on moving for another month or so, now is a good time to start packing away some decorations and items that you don't use daily. As you move closer to your move date, start packing away more and more things that you won’t 100% need in the next few weeks
Buying a house remotely might not seem ideal, but by taking advantage of virtual showings, you can still get a great representation of the home you’re interested in. You’ll want to start by working with a real estate agent who not only knows the area like the back of their hand, but who is also fairly tech savvy. Talk to them and work with them on scheduling virtual showings, which can either be done live or pre-recorded. Regardless of how you approach virtual showings, you should feel 100% confident that you get a good view of the home before making an offer on it.
We here at the FloridaHomesBocaRaton.com Real Estate Group want to give you the biggest piece of advice possible: stay calm.
Through all of this, most people are feeling apprehensive and nervous about moving forward with their real estate plans.
Luckily, there are quite a few measures in place to keep you safe throughout the process.
If you have questions, give us a call today and one of our agents will help you out!
